Victims recovering after Sunday evening shootings on Elk Place and Woodward Street

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Around 5:30 p.m. Sunday Rochester Police Officers responded to Elk Place for the report of a person shot. They arrived to find a 32-year-old female city resident, suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. The victim was taken to Strong Hospital with what are considered non-life threatening injuries.
The shooting happened with minutes of a 51-year-old woman being shot on Woodward Street. Police said they don’t believe the shootings are related at this time.
Both investigations remain active, and anyone with information is asked to contact 911.
