Red Wings honor Negro League baseball players

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – On Saturday night the Rochester Red Wings honored those players who came before them, and trailblazed new possibilities.

Rochester had its own negro minor league team called the Rochester American Giants. They played in the 1940’s. The players had to learn more than just the game of baseball, they also had to deal with racism while playing the game they loved.
