ROCHESTER, N.Y. It was a big night for hockey fans in Rochester.
The Amerks returned to the Blue Cross Arena to open a new season. This comes after a memorable run last year when Rochester won its first playoff series in 17 years.
Friday night they were hosting the Toronto Marlies and picking up right where they left off last season. After a few rebounds, Linus Weissbach scored the first goal of the Amerks’ season.
Later on in the first period Brett Murray gave Rochester the lead. and they didn’t look back. We see a power play goal in the third from Isak Rosen, the first AHL goal for the Sabres 2021 first round pick. The Amerks won 4 to 2.
