ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester Police have released the name of the woman found shot to death on the sidewalk near a vacant house on Wednesday morning.

Sandra Blanding, 39, died from a gunshot wound to the torso. Officers found her on Spencer Street near Lyell Avenue around 7 a.m. after getting a report of an unresponsive person.

Officers discovered the gunshot wound while performing first aid. They believe she was shot at least 30 minutes before her body was discovered.
