ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester Police have released the name of the man, 60, shot and killed in his driveway on Sixth Street near Bay Street.

Michael Barksdale Sr. was killed on Tuesday night. He was working on a vehicle outside his home when someone approached him and shot him several times just before 5 p.m.

Officers arrived after getting a ShotSpotter alert and an ambulance rushed Barksdale to the Strong Hospital, where he died. RPD still has no suspects in custody and says the motive is unknown. They’re asking anyone with information to call 911.

This was the 45th homicide of the year.
