ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Rochester Police confirm that two people were shot along the 300 block of Thurston Road Sunday afternoon.
Both male victims, a 30-year-old and 32-year-old, were taken to Strong Hospital with non-threatening injuries.
Officers said that the suspect or suspects fled the scene prior to police arriving.
It all happened shortly before 5:30 on Sunday evening. When police arrived on scene, traffic was blocked off along Thurston Road between Ravenwood Avenue and Anthony Street.
Christine Donaly, a mom who lives near where the shooting happened, said that parents in the area need to watch out for their children, and hopes police do more to make the community safe.
“They just need to be safe, especially with their children. Because, there are plenty of children especially on my street on Ravenwood. They need to be watching over their children. They need to be careful about where they going. They need to be cognizant about where they are at, and just know what’s going on,” Donaly said.
Donaly said that a similar shooting happened near her home three weeks ago, and that she was at home with her 9-year-old son when the shooting occurred.
Rochester Police urge anyone with information to dial 911.
