ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The University of Rochester is welcoming the class of 2026 to campus. Tuesday was move-in day for freshmen.
The University says the class is made up of about 1,500 students from more than 40 countries and nearly every state in the U.S. The Eastman School of Music expects about 130 first-year students from eight countries and 30 states.
University representatives came out to welcome the incoming class.
“Moving into a new place and going to college for the first time is always a new experience for students, but the university does a great job in acclimating students in the different academic programs and one another and their roommates so I think generally the spirit is excitement,” said Sara Miller, University Spokesperson.”
Classes start in one week. The University plans on hosting bonding activities so all the new students can get to know each other.
