ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A world first has arrived in Rochester. It’s called a clean cube operating room and it’s set to open at the UR Medicine Orthopedics Surgery Center in Henrietta in the coming weeks.
Glass walls, plus next-generation air handling and automated disinfection systems, optimize infection prevention in busy surgery centers.
“What you don’t see up above this is incredibly complex with medical gases, with data, with electrical. So the entire system comes in big pieces, a big chunk, called the nest that goes up in a matter of hours instead of a matter of weeks or months,” said Ford Kellogg, the CEO of Synergy Med.
The clean cube is designed for efficiency and safety and will ensure UR medicine can fine-tune its surgical teams’ workflow.
