Neighbors speak after person shot in SUV near Monroe Avenue
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — News10NBC has new video of the scene after a man was shot on Sunday afternoon, leaving a bullet hole through his car windshield. The video shows the man being treated by medical crews.
Officers found the 24-year-old with a gunshot wound near Monroe Avenue and South Goodman Street around 5:30 p.m. RPD says he was shot on Sheppard Street near Monroe Avenue before he was driven a few blocks away, where officers found him.
News10NBC’s crew on the scene saw the white Jeep SUV with a bullet hole. Neighbors spoke to News10NBC about their reaction to the shooting.
“It’s a little insane because nothing really happens in this neighborhood. It’s a good neighborhood. It’s very quiet,” resident Joey Russell said.
“I pray that God protect Rochester and that the violence will stop and for peace and harmony and that we love one another,” resident Timothy Brown said.
Police say they haven’t caught the shooter but they’ve detained two other people who they think were involved. Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
