Jazz Festival line-up revealed

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — It’s a star-studded lineup for the 22nd annual Rochester International Jazz Festival in June. Organizers announced the full lineup on Tuesday with 285 shows across 18 different venues.

There will be some familiar faces at the festival. Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue will once again close out the festival with a free show at Parcel 5 on Saturday, June, 28. He last performed at the 2023 jazz festival where an estimated 15,000 people came out. This year’s show comes after his performance in the Super Bowl in February.

The festival kicks off on Friday, June 20. Smokey Robinson, the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter, will be the ticketed headliner on opening day. All ticketed headliners will perform at 8 p.m. at Kodak Hall at the Eastman Theatre. Here is the lineup:

  • Smokey Robinson on Friday, June 20
  • Wynton Marsalis and Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra on Saturday, June 21
  • The Wood Brothers on Tuesday, June 24
  • Rickie Lee Jones on Wednesday, June 25
  • Thundercat on Thursday, June 26

The free headliner series will kick off on Saturday, June 21 with a performance from Chris Lane at 9 p.m. at the East and Alexander Stage. The rest of the free headliners perform at the Parcel 5 Stage at 9 p.m. Here is the schedule:

  • Jesus Molina on Wednesday on Wednesday, June 25
  • Los Lonely Boys on Thursday, June 26
  • Lettuce on Friday, June 27
  • Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue on Saturday, June 28
