FD investigating fire that destroyed home and took the lives of two cats on Wickwine Lane

Update: At about 2:45 p.m. on Saturday multiple agencies were dispatched to a house on fire on Wickwine Lane. Since it was a clear day, the smoke was visible from a good portion of of the south side of the county. Units were on the scene in less than five minutes, and a single family home was involved. Due to the heavy volume of fire, the fire was knocked down from the outside. Over 40 firefighters were on the scene.
There were no injuries to firefighters or civilians, but two cats were found dead by firefighters after getting the fire under control. The family is being assisted by the American Red Cross and the home is deemed a total loss. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – On Saturday afternoon the Monroe County Sheriff’s assisted the Henrietta Fire Department with a house fire at 47 Wickwine Lane in Henrietta. Wickwine Lane is currently closed to all traffic while the Fire Department completes their investigation. They ask that you avoid the area. No word on when the street will reopen.
Everyone was able to get out of the home, and no one sustained any injures.
