ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A Yellow Alert remains up for Saturday afternoon as the threat still lies for some strong to severe storms to develop.
A warm front lifting across the region Saturday morning may bring a brief rain shower across the area, otherwise looking mainly dry through about midday. If you are heading out to the Bills pre-season game or the Rochester Airshow keep a close eye to the sky and on updates to the forecast. If we get any decent amounts of sunshine later Saturday morning into the afternoon that will add to destabilize the atmosphere with development of strong to severe storms.
The greatest threat remains to be south and east of Rochester into the Finger Lakes. Strong damaging winds and hail would be the main concern within any storms that do develop. Any storms will taper and end later Saturday evening into the overnight.
Sunday is shaping up much nicer, mainly dry, breezy and cooler. The next chance for an area ride rain looks to arrive Monday night into Tuesday. Stay with the First Alert Weather Team for continued updates and any watches or warnings that may be issued.
