Two men shot on North Clinton Avenue, police investigating

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Two men are at Strong Memorial Hospital after police say they were shot on North Clinton Avenue Thursday afternoon.

Captain Greg Bello says an officer in plain clothes got to the scene first, and applied a what police believe to be a life-saving tourniquet to one of the victims. Police explain one man was shot once and is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The other man is being treated for “pretty serious” injuries after being shot multiple times.

“We believe that tourniquet that the first arriving officer placed was instrumental to the survival of this male,” Bello told News10NBC at the scene.

Captain Bello wouldn’t comment on why the plain-clothed officer was initially in the area.
