Fallen hero: Rochester Police Officer Daryl Pierson killed 10 years ago

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Tuesday marks 10 years since Rochester Police Officer Daryl Pierson was killed in the line of duty.

It was on September 3, 2014, Officer Pierson was chasing a suspect near Hudson Avenue in Rochester when he was shot. He died shortly after. Pierson was married and had two children.

The man who killed Pierson, Thomas Johnson III, is currently serving life in prison without the possibility of parole.
