Head-on crash seriously injures both drivers, MCSO is investigating

PENFIELD, N.Y. — The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a crash on Empire Boulevard that injured multiple people.

Deputies say the crash happened around 12:30 p.m. Friday when a car and an SUV crashed head-on. Both drivers are seriously injured. Officials say speed was a factor in the crash, and criminal charges may be filed.

Empire Boulevard was temporarily closed to traffic, but has since reopened.

This investigation is ongoing.
