Person returns Pirate Toy Fund statue with an apology note

OGDEN, N.Y. — The person who stole a statue from the Pirate Toy Fund in Spencerport has returned it with an apology note.

Photos show a person picking up the statue, walking away with it, and putting it in a truck on Tuesday night. Pirate Toy Fund staff confirmed that it was returned with a note apologizing for taking it. According to staff, the person claimed the statue was trash and didn’t know its meaning.

The Pirate Toy Fund is an organization that gives toys to children in need.
