First Alert Weather: Another round of storms and downpours Wednesday
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The radar and sky lit up for many on Tuesday afternoon, with strong storms dropping torrential rain and small hail.

Some locations reported half-inch size hailstones covering the ground, along with rainfall on the order of 1 to 2″ in some isolated locations.
With not much change in our overall pattern, expect to see scattered showers and storms popping once again on Wednesday, mainly during the afternoon and early evening hours. These storms are feeding off of the energy of the sun, so they will tend to fizzle as the sun sets Wednesday evening.
Thursday will also see some wet weather in the afternoon, but storms shouldn’t be as robust or widespread as Tuesday and Wednesday.
We’ll dry out and warm up for Friday and Saturday. In fact, we may reach 90 on Saturday ahead of our next chance for wet weather. Some storms may try to sneak in late on Saturday, especially for far western New York, with rain and storm chances going up on Sunday. We expect another rather unsettled week next week with scattered showers and storms at least into mid-week.
