ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A local animal shelter is getting $200,000 for renovations and improvements.
Pet Pride of New York in Victor was chosen by the empire state as a recipient of the Companion Animal Capital Fund.
It’s a no-kill cat shelter. The money will be used to add a new wing to the shelter which will include intake, isolation, veterinary service areas, and more.
Nearly $5 million will be invested in several other shelters around the state. If you visit one of these newly-renovated shelters, it might be very crowded.
Animal shelters across the country are running out of space, especially here in Rochester.
So the Rochester Animal Services Center has reduced its adoption fees for the rest of the year. It will now cost you $30 to adopt a cat and $50 for dogs. The center is also looking for foster families. You can learn more here.
