ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Sixty local veterans, from War World II, The Korean War, The Cold War, and the Vietnam War visited Washington D.C. war memorials built in their honor.
On Sunday, Honor Flight Mission 77 touched down at Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester Airport, and the veterans came back to a huge and happy welcome. This is often a very emotional experience for them.
“Happy tears, it’s amazing,” said Larry Strasser of Honor Flight Rochester.
Mission 77’s veterans served in the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, and Coast Guard.
