BUFFALO, NY (WHEC) – Sean Malone will return to the Buffalo Sabres organization.
The Amerks veteran inked a one-year, $750,000 deal on Wednesday with Buffalo.
Malone, who was selected 159th overall in the 2013 NHL Draft, has spent four seasons with the Rochester Americans, playing in 208 games with the team. The 2021-22 campaign was his best, as Malone set career-highs with 20 goals and 37 assists.
The forward spent one season with the Chicago Wolves, before returning to play with the Amerks in 2020. He’s suited up twice in NHL games.
Malone’s veteran presence was key in Rochester’s Calder Cup Playoff run, which ended in the quarterfinals. He tallied two goals and five assists in ten playoff games.
Heading into his sixth year, Malone will yet again be called upon to be a leader in the Amerks locker room.
