70-year-old man dies in Canandaigua crash

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (WHEC) – On Sunday at about 7:49 p.m., the State Police responded to an accident where a vehicle that was traveling southbound, drove off the east shoulder and struck a utility box causing minor damage on Lake Hill Road in the town of Canandaigua.
When troopers arrived, the operator, Daniel Rice, age 70, from Canandaigua, was unresponsive and was transported to FF Thompson Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The cause of the crash is still being investigated and State Police are not ruling out a possible medical event that might have caused the crash.
