Ontario County sheriff will speak Friday afternoon after boy, 13, drowns in creek
A 13-year-old boy drowned after falling in a creek off Blodgett Road in the town of Gorham (WHEC)
GORHAM, N.Y. — The Ontario County sheriff will speak on Friday at 1:30 p.m. about the drowning of a 13-year-old boy who fell into a creek.
Deputies are investigating the drowning and don’t suspect foul play. The boy fell into a creek off Blodgett Road in the Town of Gorham just after 2 p.m. on Thursday and was swept away by the current.
He was found a short distance downstream from where he fell in. He was pulled from the creek and first responders started lifesaving measures. The boy was taken to Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua, where he was pronounced dead.
News10NBC reached out to the Marcus Whitman Central School District superintendent. He said the boy was not a student in the district. Canandaigua Emergency Squad, Middlesex Ambulance and Rushville Ambulance responded to the scene.
