ROCHESTER, N.Y. The city held its first ever Dominican Day celebration Sunday afternoon. It took place at the International Plaza.
The celebration was a chance to get out and learn about a culture that has been ingrained in the Rochester community for a long time. There was Dominican food, dancing, and even a live performance from a Grammy award winner.
“The intention is to make sure that people know that Dominicans have a presence in this community. We’ve been around for a long time and we are totally immersed and great contributors to this community,” said Eugenio Marlin, event organizer.”
Organizers want to continue to have the event in the years to come, and they hope that the Rochester community will show its support.
