ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) —We’ve learned the Baden Street Settlement, one of the oldest – and largest community outreach programs in the City of Rochester, will receive a substantial grant from the state.
New York State Senator Jeremy Cooney announced Thursday, the center will receive funding for a community hub for youth and adults.
The $50,0000 grant will be used for "capital improvements." This includes planned services such as a gaming center, a basketball court, and education spaces.
The settlement previously received more than $500,000 in federal funding as part of an appropriations bill in the United States Congress.
The center celebrated 120 years in 2021.
