Quinn is last year’s eighth overall pick by the Sabres has quickly risen up the ranks of the AHL stat leaders.
He’s got 12 points tied for the third most. Mersch is right behind him with eleven in his third season with Rochester and 10th overall.
Their six goals apiece are tied for the third most, as well. The nature of preparing for all the different teams’ ever-changing rosters isn’t something Head Coach Seth Appert treats lightly.
"I think it’s really important in a long season that you make adjustments based on who you’re playing and who your opponent is," Appert said. "But you have to be careful about never adjusting so much that you lose sight of who you are so there are certain things we’re just going to always do because that’s what I believe it takes to be a winning hockey team. Then, we’ll make slight adjustments based on where we’re at as a team, what we need to get better and who our opponents might be."
The Amerks will face the Penguins next in Wilkes-Barre on Wednesday at 7:05 p.m.
