ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Spectrum cable customers should expect to pay more.
The broadcast TV surcharge is going from $17.99 to $21 a month, Spectrum TV Select will go from $76.99 to $79.99 a month, and Spectrum TV receivers will increase from $8.99 to $9.99 a month.
Spectrum began notifying customers last month.
Most current customers will see an increase of fewer than $5 per month.
For new customers paying a promotional price for their Spectrum TV, the regular plan price does not take effect until the end of the promotional period.
So why are prices going up?
Spectrum issued a statement saying, "TV programmers continue to raise fees annually to carry their content, driving higher costs across the entire industry. As a direct result of the growing cost of programming from the tv networks we carry, we are passing through these increased fees to viewers."
