ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC)— Here’s a Good Question about Wegmans. This is not about the grocery store side of things.
It covers the restaurant part of the company. One location still hasn’t reopened the doors. So is it even coming back?
Delores asked News10NBC’s Brennan Somers: Wondering if Amore Restaurant at Wegmans on East Avenue is going to be reopening
It’s been closed throughout the pandemic. Initially, the company had hopes of bringing Amore back last year. Somers asked Wegmans officials what’s the plan now.
A spokesperson sent this response addressing Amore and other Wegmans locations around town:
Amore is currently closed, and we do not have a timeline for reopening at this time. We know how popular our food at Amore was, so we’ve been working to bring some of the best flavors to life in our stores through our Wegmans Amore product line. Chef Pasquale, who led Amore, continues to focus on new items for this line and has helped open the new Italian Foods station at our Pittsford Store. As the year goes on, we will continue listening to our customers and consider the best time to open Amore again.
Next Door (3220 Monroe Avenue)
Next Door is currently open for indoor and outdoor dining, as well as takeout. During the winter, our guests enjoyed dining in the snow globe igloos located on the patio, and with warmer weather coming, our rear patio is now open for a socially distanced dining experience. In addition, our restaurant team has opened The Lounge, a new one-of-a-kind dining experience inside Next Door with a delicious menu that incorporates Japanese flavors along with an exclusive cocktail menu.
Guests who are missing our Italian dining at Amore now have the opportunity to reserve the Chef Table in the test kitchen at Next Door with Chef Pasquale. Chef Mikami and Chef Satoshi are also available for guests looking to enjoy Japanese food in a private-dining atmosphere.
Burger Bar (3195 Monroe Avenue)
The Pittsford Burger Bar has reopened its indoor dining area with limited seating and continues to offer takeout and delivery through Wegmans Meals 2Go. Customers can also order Burger Bar menu items through Meals 2Go at Perinton as well.
When it comes to Market Cafés, those are open with a socially distant set up in place.
What didn’t make it through the pandemic? Wegmans pubs. There were 12 across New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.
The company temporarily closed them then made the decision to shut them down for good. The only one here was in Perinton.
