GREECE, N.Y. (WHEC) — A sergeant with the Greece Police Department has filed his intent to sue the department and the town, claiming retaliation.
It was sparked by the crash involving former Greece Police Drew Forsythe.
Bryan Root said he was retaliated against for being a whistleblower and foiling the department’s attempted cover-up of the crash.
He also says he was intimidated into a 30-day suspension or face departmental charges.
Root is the second officer to file a notice of claim against the town in connection punishment that resulted from the crash investigation.
News10NBC has reached out to the town of Greece, the town supervisor, the Greece Police Department and an attorney named in the claim for comment. The attorney told us they have no comment at this time.
