MCSO investigating incident involving Pittsford Sutherland student with knife
PITTSFORD, N.Y. (WHEC) — Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating another incident involving students at Pittsford Sutherland High School.
Two students got into a fight during a game at the school last Friday.
During the incident, one student was in possession of a knife but did not actively threaten anyone with it. The two students were removed from the stands and MCSO was contacted.
Deputies say the student with the knife was taken to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation.
“The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is a true partner and we are grateful for their thorough and careful investigation into the incident that occurred last week at Pittsford Sutherland High School. Our collaboration with MCSO during these types of investigations is crucial. As always, the most important work we can do is maintaining a safe environment for all students,” said Michael Pero, Superintendent of Pittsford Schools.
Deputies reassured the public that this incident was not related to the troubling video that surfaced over the weekend.
