ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Next week is Sheriffs’ Week across Monroe County.
County Executive Adam Bello said this is to highlight and thank the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office for its work to keep the community safe.
Bello says from our roadways to our courts and jail, the sheriff’s office works tirelessly.
"Elected officials like me, and government officials, we go to a lot of groundbreakings, we go to a lot of ribbon cuttings, we talk about our parks and recreation programs, we talk about infrastructure, we talk about economic development, workforce development, all the things we want to do to make Monroe County a better place, but none of it — none of it works unless our people are safe."
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is 200 years old this year.
