UPDATE: Driver ticketed for truck being over legal height after crashing into pedestrian bridge on Mt. Read Blvd.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Mt. Read Boulevard is open between Ridge Road and Ridgeway Avenue after a crash on Tuesday, Dec. 17.

Police say the bed of a truck was in a position that was too tall for the roadway and crashed into a pedestrian bridge on Mt. Read, causing a portion of the bridge to come tumbling down.

Officials say a blue Kia was driving behind the truck and crashed into fallen debris.

Both the Kia driver and truck driver were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The truck operator received two tickets for the truck being over the legal height.
