ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Mt. Olivet Baptist Church is kicking off its summer festival with a free Juneteenth celebration.

Finger Lakes Opera performed a free program Friday night, and News10NBC’s Deanna Dewberry emceed. The Mt. Olivet Sanctuary Choir sang several songs as well.

Juneteenth is next Wednesday, June 19. It commemorates the end of slavery in the United States.
