UPDATE: Man charged with stabbing in Geneva
GENEVA, N.Y. — Geneva Police have charged a man in connection with the stabbing of a 38-year-old man on Genesee Street Tuesday evening.
Rafael Nieves-Cruz, a 32-year-old convicted Felon from Geneva, is charged with assault. Police detectives arrested him after they spotted him walking on Lewis Street on Wednesday afternoon. Detectives say that, when they tried to speak with Nieves-Cruz, he began running and was caught soon after.
Nieves-Cruz is at the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office Correctional Facility while awaiting arraignment. The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Parole helped with the arrest. The stabbing suspect is expected to survive.
