Man, 22, accused of robbing bank on Lyell Avenue

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A man, 22, is charged with robbery after Rochester Police say he stole cash from the KeyBank on Lyell Avenue on Monday morning.

Officers say the suspect, Kevis Herd, whispered that he had a bomb and demanded money. RPD says that’s when the teller handed over the money and Herd ran away.

Officers responded to the bank just after 9 a.m. and tracked the suspect. Herd was taken into custody after a foot chase on Parkway.

Herd was taken to the Monroe County Jail and will be arraigned on Tuesday.
