ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Police have arrested a man for the shooting of two women at a birthday party on August 11. The man’s partner was also arrested after police said she had an illegal gun.
Travis Collier, 34, faces two counts of assault and weapons charges. A Rochester Police Department investigation identified him as a suspect after the shooting on Child Street near Jay Street. Both victims, a woman in her 20s and a woman in her late teens, survived that shooting.
On Thursday, officers took Collier into custody after a traffic stop on Maple Street. RPD said that Collier had a loaded illegal gun with him in the car. His partner, 31-year-old Lesha Collier, was in the car and also faces weapons charges.
The couple was taken to Monroe County Jail and they will be arraigned on Friday morning. Travis Collier was forbidden from possessing a gun because he was convicted of criminal possession of a weapon back in 2014.
