Rochester man arrested with illegal gun

ITHACA, N.Y. A Rochester man was arrested in Ithaca on Saturday for assault and having a gun illegally.
Ithaca police were called to a domestic incident just after 2 a.m. Saturday. The suspect tried to run when police arrived. They eventually arrested 28-year-old Voshon Carpenter of Rochester without incident. They found a loaded gun on him.
Carpenter is a convicted felon and doesn’t have a pistol permit, so he was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon. He’s also charged with assault.
